Growing up, I had my head in the clouds. I struggled with being present, staying focused, and following directions. I was always dreaming. In some ways, it worked in my favor because those dreams fueled my ambition. But at some point, I realized that if I wanted to make those dreams come true, I had to shift from being a dreamer to a doer. That's when I became obsessed with productivity and personal development. I am always on the hunt for the best tool or a life hack that can help me be more effective and efficient.
I’m passionate about healthcare transformation, education reform, and global consciousness.
Given my roots in India, I’ve had the opportunity to witness how healthcare is approached through a different lens in alternative systems of medicine like Ayurveda. Their emphasis on addressing the root cause of disease and opting for natural treatment options/ lifestyle changes seemed a lot more sensible compared to the western world’s band-aid solutions of pills and procedures. This drew me to a career at the intersection of healthcare, tech, and behavior change.
My experiences through the schooling system also led me to question the value of a traditional education. It seemed to me that so many students spent years of their life learning about things they don’t care about, don’t end up using, and forget about anyway. I’m a huge proponent of infusing education with more self-discovery, career exploration, and crucial life skills. I believe students should leave school with a deep understanding of their strengths, values, and interests. They’d also be much better equipped for the the real world if they could manage their emotions and handle interpersonal conflict effectively.
I love supporting our youth-- I’ve coached/ mentored students and hosted workshops at schools on setting goals, getting organized, and building good habits. I am also on the board of Rooted School, a non-profit that builds charter schools across the nation-- partnering with local companies to identify the competencies needed for entry-level jobs and working backwards to design their school curriculum with those skills in mind. I am convinced that we need to evolve the education system to align school curriculum with industry needs and help our future leaders develop the skills and self-knowledge they need to succeed.
I'm also fascinated and emboldened by the prospect of elevating our collective consciousness. Numerous peer-reviewed scientific studies have shown that when a group of people gather together and focus on peace, harmony, and love, crime rates drop, violence is reduced, car accidents diminish, and economic growth is enhanced. I trust that practices like these will play a pivotal role in unifying humanity towards common goals and crafting a better future for the planet.
